Plateau State Branch recently witnessed a remarkable event of unveiling a Reading Garden, a Project executed by the Better Class Environment (BCE), a group of young volunteers on the Plateau. It was done to provide a conducive reading environment for library users.
The Garden was unveiled by the former University Librarian of Jos University, Prof. Stephen Akintunde. Other friends of the Library present includes; the Chairman of the Nigeria Library Association (NLA), Mr Nan'gap Daship ably represented by the Vice Chairman Mr. Simon Labwat, the Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Mr. Victor Jatau, Caprecon Foundation International Founder/Director ably represented by Miss Janet Bitrus, Mr. Ben Duamlong (a 70 year old man that bagged a first class degree from University of Jos) and others.
The Head of Branch, Mrs Sarah Emmanuel appreciated the donors for their kind gestures and efforts geared towards improving reading culture of the people. She therefore, called on all and sundry to come to around the National Library of Nigeria in Jos for their reading pleasures.
